Well folks, I had planned on hosting my OWN blog, and tried desperately to actually get my server up and running, but it's just been too much of a pain in the butt. I might try again sooner or later, but for now I'm content to keep my rantings on Blogger (if for no other reason than that I don't need my bandwidth being used just so people can read my rantings).
--------
I will be perfectly honest with all my readers : I cannot stand to visit the official IAH forums much anymore. They used to be quite helpful, informative, and even funny sometimes, but not anymore. Since the announcement of F2P way back in August, they have filled up with so much whining, bitching, bickering, and complaining that it's no wonder the game is suffering.
At this point, I don't blame IAHGames for not responding to any of the complaining anymore : Every time they posted their intentions, the "usual suspects" (whom I am starting to suspect are all clones) would take that opportunity to flame the hell out of IAH over shit like the ETS nerf and P2P vs F2P. And These people, sadly, aren't even taking the CIVILIZED route of offering constructive criticism - the posts are full of obscenities (not that I mind swearing as such), occasionally punctuated with threats and the usual hatred that's generally best saved for your ex's new boyfriend, or the crack-head employer who tried to run off with the company funds right after Christmas.
Personally, I am still enjoying sGE, despite the number of problems that still need to be dealt with (whether IMC, IAH, or the 'Community'). I'm just not sure I can take this lovely "community atmosphere" that IAH have allowed to fester within their forums.
To those forum users/Mods/CC who are actually helpful and courteous (to the best of your ability) hang in there, hopefully some day your patience and even temperment will be rewarded with something other than a kick in the face and a screen-full of insults.
I remain,
